Our Tasting Team

The roaches raised by the HappyLittleGuys are tested daily by a team of dedicated tasters. Let's meet some of them!

Daisy the bearded dragon

Do you know who doesn’t discriminate between different roach sizes? Daisy the bearded dragon. She will happily lick up any roaches presented to her from small to large. As long as the roaches keep on coming, her tummy will keep on filling. The look of satisfaction as she licks her chop after a meal is priceless.

Betty the American green tree frog

Despite her fluffiness, Betty the American green tree frog is very picky. Her eyes are always set on the big ones and only the larger roaches have her stamp of approval. If she doesn’t like the taste of a roach, her little hand will reach into her mouth and pull out the poor bug while looking at you in disappointment.

Lucky the Asian grass lizard

Lucky’s sharp eyes miss nothing. Being a long tailed grass lizard, his snake-like tongue and unbelievable dexterity are the banes of all smaller roaches, not even the Red Runners can escape him. Although a slow eater in contrast to Daisy and Betty, Lucky knows to enjoy his catch. And there is no better way to spend the afternoon perched on a branch while chewing on a juicy bug.

Gigi the green anole

Small roaches for a small lizard. Gigi the Green Anole is a Texas local, hatched right inside her vivarium. Her gentle nature is not only displayed by her looks but also the way she handles her roaches. Always approaching very carefully, she’ll slowly creep up behind a small roach and snatch it up at the last minute.

Little Tim the red-eared slider

Unlike other members of Little Tim’s species, where most of their diet is composed of turtle food pellets. Little Tim the red-eared slider likes to chase down his food. Like Daisy, Little Tim is not picky at all and will take any sized roaches with great pleasure and enthusiasm. The cutest part is when he catches his bug, he will swim around his tank to celebrate a meal well deserved.
